These Terms of Service govern your use of the EigenWallet software. By downloading, installing, or using EigenWallet, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully.

01Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using EigenWallet, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not download, install, or use the software.
EigenWallet is open-source software provided free of charge. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the EigenWallet contributors regarding your use of the software.
02Software Nature and Disclaimer
EigenWallet is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. The software is experimental in nature and involves inherent risks associated with cryptocurrency transactions and peer-to-peer networking.
You expressly acknowledge and agree that your use of EigenWallet is at your sole risk. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the EigenWallet contributors disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
No advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained from EigenWallet contributors or through the software, shall create any warranty not expressly stated in these terms.
03Self-Custody and Responsibility
EigenWallet is a self-custodial wallet. You are solely responsible for the security of your private keys, recovery phrase, and any passwords used to access your wallet. EigenWallet contributors do not have access to your keys, funds, or recovery phrase and cannot recover them on your behalf.
You are solely responsible for:
- Backing up and securely storing your recovery phrase in an offline location
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your wallet credentials
- All transactions initiated from your wallet
- Ensuring your device is free from malware and unauthorized access
- Complying with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction
If you lose your recovery phrase, your funds may be permanently inaccessible. EigenWallet contributors bear no responsibility for lost or stolen funds, forgotten passwords, or compromised recovery phrases.
04Atomic Swaps and Peer-to-Peer Trading
EigenWallet facilitates atomic swaps between peers using cryptographic protocols. While the protocol is designed to be trustless, you acknowledge that:
- Counterparties in peer-to-peer trades are unknown third parties
- Swap execution depends on network conditions and counterparties remaining online
- Failed swaps may require you to wait for timelock expiration to claim refunds
- Exchange rates are determined by market makers and may include fees
EigenWallet does not act as an intermediary, escrow agent, or financial institution in any swap. All trades occur directly between users.
05No Financial or Legal Advice
Nothing in EigenWallet or its documentation constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Cryptocurrency transactions carry significant risks, including total loss of funds. You should consult qualified professionals before making financial decisions.
EigenWallet does not recommend, endorse, or guarantee the value, security, or legality of any cryptocurrency or transaction.
06Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use EigenWallet for any unlawful purpose or in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the network or interfere with any other party's use of the software. Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:
- Any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Money laundering, terrorist financing, or sanctions evasion
- Fraud, phishing, or social engineering attacks
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the software
- Distributing malware or exploiting security vulnerabilities
- Interfering with or disrupting the integrity of atomic swap protocols
07Intellectual Property
EigenWallet is open-source software licensed under the applicable open-source license. You are free to use, modify, and distribute the software in accordance with the terms of that license. All trademarks, logos, and brand elements remain the property of their respective owners.
The EigenWallet name and logo may not be used in a manner that suggests endorsement, affiliation, or sponsorship without prior written consent.
08Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall the EigenWallet contributors be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the software.
This limitation applies whether the alleged liability is based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other basis, even if the contributors have been advised of the possibility of such damage.
09Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the EigenWallet contributors from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the software, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of another.
10Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting the revised terms. Your continued use of EigenWallet after any changes indicates your acceptance of the modified terms.
It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically. Material changes will be communicated through the software or project channels where reasonably practicable.
11Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the primary EigenWallet maintainers are based, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any dispute arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.
