Privacy Policy

EigenWallet is a self-custodial, privacy-first desktop wallet. We do not collect, store, or process your personal data. We have no user accounts, no identity verification, no analytics tracking, and no centralized databases of user information.

Your wallet data, private keys, recovery phrase, and transaction history are stored exclusively on your local device. EigenWallet contributors cannot access, view, or recover any of your wallet information.

EigenWallet does not collect or have access to any of the following:

• Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or postal addresses
• Government-issued identification or KYC documentation
• Private keys, recovery phrases, or wallet passwords
• Transaction histories, balances, or wallet addresses
• IP addresses or precise geolocation data
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Browsing behavior or usage analytics

Because we do not collect this data, we cannot share it, sell it, or lose it in a data breach.

All data generated by your use of EigenWallet remains on your device, including:

• Wallet files and encrypted key storage
• Transaction metadata and swap history
• Application preferences and settings
• Tor circuit and peer connection caches

This data is protected by your device's operating system security and any encryption passwords you set within EigenWallet. You can delete this data at any time by uninstalling the application or deleting the wallet data directory.

EigenWallet communicates over the internet to perform essential wallet functions. These communications include:

• Broadcasting Bitcoin and Monero transactions to their respective networks
• Syncing blockchain data from public nodes
• Discovering and connecting to atomic swap peers
• Querying exchange rate data from public APIs

By default, all network traffic is routed through the Tor network to protect your IP address and network metadata. You may configure custom node connections in the application settings.

We do not operate the Bitcoin, Monero, or Tor networks. Your interactions with these networks are subject to their respective protocols and privacy properties.

EigenWallet may optionally integrate with third-party services at your discretion:

• EU On-Ramp (SEPA): The optional fiat-to-Monero purchase feature is provided by a regulated third-party partner. Using this feature requires you to interact directly with that partner's service, which operates under its own privacy policy.
• Price APIs: Exchange rate data is fetched from public cryptocurrency price APIs. These requests do not include any wallet-identifying information.

We do not control these third-party services and are not responsible for their privacy practices. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies before use.

EigenWallet is fully open-source software. The complete source code is publicly available for inspection, audit, and verification. You can independently verify that the software does not contain hidden data collection mechanisms.

We encourage security researchers and privacy advocates to review our codebase and report any concerns through responsible disclosure channels.

While we do not collect your data, we implement security measures in the software itself:

• AES-256 encryption for wallet files and recovery phrases at rest
• Optional biometric authentication for wallet unlock
• Tor network routing for all outbound connections by default
• Local-only transaction signing — keys never leave your device
• Regular security audits and dependency updates

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, operating system, and recovery phrase backups.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights under data protection laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. Because EigenWallet does not process personal data on your behalf, most traditional data subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) are exercised directly by you through control of your local data.

EigenWallet is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18, or the minimum age required to enter into legally binding contracts in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the software, legal requirements, or our privacy practices. We will indicate the date of the latest revision at the top of this policy.

Continued use of EigenWallet after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
